Founded in 1939 by the Leon County Fair Association, the North Florida Fair has grown from a small agricultural showcase at the Leon County Armory into one of Tallahassee’s most beloved annual traditions. Originally focused on celebrating local farmers and artisans, the fair expanded over the decades to include educational exhibits, entertainment, and competitions, while continuously improving its fairgrounds and facilities. Today, in its 83rd year, the North Florida Fair remains a vibrant blend of tradition and modern attractions, bringing together the community each November for a celebration of North Florida’s culture, creativity, and agricultural heritage.
