Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is known for its stunning ornamental gardens featuring a brick walkway, secret garden, reflection pool, walled garden, and blooming camellias and azaleas. First planted in 1923 by Alfred and Louise Maclay, the gardens are at their most colorful from January through April.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking on Lake Hall, with picnic areas available along the shore. The park also offers two nature trails and several miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding around Lake Overstreet.

Special events are held throughout the year, including Tour of Gardens, Moon Over Maclay, and Camellia Christmas. While pets are not allowed in the formal gardens, service animals are welcome throughout the park.
