Amos P. Godby High School is dedicated to preparing students for success in an increasingly global and technological world. Its mission is to equip graduates with the academic, analytical, and communication skills needed to thrive as productive members of society.

The school is named in honor of Amos Parker Godby (1904-1992), a lifelong educator and leader who made lasting contributions to Florida's public education system. A former teacher, coach, and longtime Superintendent of Leon County Schools, Mr. Godby championed educational reform, school accreditation, and innovative programs such as driver's education and summer learning. His legacy of excellence, integrity, and commitment to student opportunity continues to inspire the Godby High School community today.
