The Moon

The Moon has been Tallahassee’s premier live music and entertainment venue since Scott Carswell converted an old grocery store into a new community arts center, opening on April 24, 1985. Operated and owned by Scott and his wife Julie, now joined by their sons, The Moon has played host to everything from private parties to country, hip-hop, jazz, rock, and beyond — often all in the course of a single evening.

In its 40-plus years, The Moon has featured everything from local favorites such as Tallahassee Nights Live and the Southern Shakespeare Company to national stars like Willie Nelson, T-Pain, Bonnie Raitt, Kendrick Lamar, and The Ramones. Deeply embedded in the culture of FSU, FAMU, and the Tallahassee community, The Moon is a special, flexible space.
