Native Nurseries has been helping people enjoy nature since 1980. Using native plants in the home landscape, Native Nurseries hopes to inspire and help the community to create yards and gardens that will reflect the interdependence of all living things and provide for the wildlife they share the land with. Native Nurseries offers classes, workshops, and landscaping services based on native plants. The staff of naturalists and horticulturists are eager to help anyone with questions or advice.
Donna Legare and Jody Walthall, both graduates in wildlife ecology, started Native Nurseries. Native Nurseries began as a part-time gardening business and grew into a community nursery that was well before its time. Native Nurseries was well known before native plant gardening became known nationally. Native Nurseries is still a local favorite among nature lovers in Tallahassee.
