Dohnányi Recital Hall, housed in the Housewright building, is a 215-seat venue primarily used for recitals and lectures. It is named after Ernst Von Dohnányi, a world-renowned composer and pianist who served as composer-in-residence at FSU from 1949 until his passing in 1960. Before relocating to the United States, Dohnányi was the director of the Budapest Music Academy and held several prominent positions in Hungary until World War II. His compositions continue to be performed worldwide.
